TIDA-00961: TIDA-00961, bulk capacitor voltage, why is smaller than 390V not allowed ?

Dear Dir/Madam, Dear Watermelon Noodles, Dear Texas Instruments Team,

many thanks for all previous help!

In the document TIDUDU4A- March 2018-Revised August 2018, you write on page 20 on top

"Make sure the Output Vbus (v) value in main.cfg is always within board limits. This value must not be set below 390V"

Why are voltages lower than 390V a problem? When I use an ac source of 120V root mean square, then the bulk capacitors charge up to 169V. Why is it a necessity to make the bus voltage as high as 390V? Do you maybe mean that 390V is the maximal voltage that shall be used?

Why not 350V for example?

Do you maybe mean not to go above 390V?

Many thanks for your answer because I would prefer to start with a bus voltage smaller than 390V.

Also in your main.cfg I did not find a field to change the grid frequency from 60Hz to 50Hz.

Many thanks for your reply.

Patrick
