TIDA-010042: TIDA-010042 MOSFET BASED DESIGN INPUT AND OUTPUT CAPACITANCE

Is there any particular reason for using large value bulk capacitor at the input(2 x 1200uF) and output (1 x 1000uF)of TIDA-010042 mosfet based reference design.What happens if I reduce these values.
