WEBENCH® Tools/LM5146-Q1: WEBENCH SUGGESTING OBSOLETE FETs

$

Part Number:LM5146-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,
I'm planning on using the above device for a wide range of rails in a new design and have been using Webench to assist with the design. What I have noticed is that the part IRF6609 is suggested for all my rail solutions, yet this part is obsolete.
Why are obsolete parts being suggested? It makes me question the validity of other part suggestions in Webench and significantly detracts from the usefullness of the Webench design tool which is otherwise excellent.
I'd be grateful if you could advise.
In addition, is it possible to add in bespoke parts to the webench design recommendation? For this particular instance I'd wish to replace the suggested obsolete fet with an alternative and confirm performance, but there are no other alternatives offered by the tool.
Thanks
Chris

TINA/Spice/UCC28180: How to include the UCC28180 PSPICE model in the any simulation software?

Part Number:UCC28180

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi, I want to ask that how to include the UCC28180 PSPICE model in the simulation software?

First, I used the SIMETRIX to include this model , but it showed the pin in the symbol only had 6 pin, the VCC and FREQ pin were diappeared.

And I found the solution from your forums , it said that some models were encryped and only open in the PSPICE or TINA-TI

Does it have another solution to include it in SIMETRIX? And if you have unencryped model, how can I get it from a legal method ?

Secondary, I also used the PSIPCE in OrCAD to include this model , the symbol show the pin was same with SIMETRIX.

I opened the .LIB file found the PIN setting lose the VCC and FREQ in the file downloaded from your website. http://www.ti.com/product/UCC28180/toolssoftware

Can I add the VCC and FREQ PIN in the file and will it can work normarlly?

Last question, do you have UCC3818 spice model ?

Thanks for your help.

TINA/Spice/UCC256301: (simplis model) OCP on ISNS pin relevant to capacitance connected to VCC pin

Part Number:UCC256301

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi :

Sorry to bother you.

When i try to change the OCP Threshould, i found that when the capacitance connected to VCC pin is large, UCC256301 will enter OCP fault in simplis. But when i change the VCC_capacitance to a smaller one, it will not enter OCP.

Take UCC35630x simplis model on ti.com for example. You can change R10 to 200 ohm and change C18 to 200 nF, it will enter OCP fault. But if you change C18 to 20nF and R10 to the same 200 ohm, it will not enter OCP .  But the VCC_capacitance should have noting to do with the OCP fault. Why does it happen ?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Li, Gang

Request an UCC25630X IC simplis model.

The model i downloaded from TI.com, is general LLC power system model, however, i can't descend hierarchy to the IC internal block model.

What I need is a simplis model that i can reach the ucc25630x internal block diagram, so that our local FAE could do deep dive in the HHC control.

Part Number:PMP7973

Dear sir,

I was try to made PMP7973 reference design for 48 to 110 dc to dc Converter, and the result was surprise me, my board working very well.

actually PMP7973 only give Vo = 3Amp@110vdc, about 330watt, I need more power about 20Amp for my design,

I was try to parallel the module but doesnt working total load is not sharing and I realized that's was bad idea.

I find some reference to use current limiting with droops methode, use series resistor, is this methode good enough for my design

I need help for this situation, is it any better methode for my problem.

Hello,

I have tried to simulate the TPS2120 by importing the Pspice encrypted model in Tina-Ti software but unfortunatly it doesn't compile.

Can you provide a Tina-Ti Spice model for this component, please ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

When trying to import PSPICE model to TI-TINA, I get "Invalid device $CDNENCSTART". I see there are many topics like this one for other devices. Please provide a TINA model or, maybe even a general workaround that allows people to import such model directly by themselves...

Thanks and best regards

Simon

Hello

We are trying to use LMG3140 in designing an inverter.....we understand now that this power switch does not require FWD …...our question is during the 3rd quadrant operation or when the inverter is in braking mode....do we need to give that LMG3410 any control signal or should we leave it switched off?

If we give it a control signal....does this mean that LMG3140 is a bi-directional switch?

Part Number:SM74611

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

I need spice model for SM74611 smart bypass diode, i had really hard time to add this one to my LTSPICE library, Although other models and subcircuits work fine for me.

I cant get any information as macro is encrypted (Encrypted macro. Content can't be viewed) ,however if there is direct way to add it in LTSPICE without model information ,Please help me with that.

I will be very grateful for any help.

TINA/Spice: Post processing curves when using parameter stepping

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

When doing a simulation with Tina-TI I am able to use parameter stepping to test a range of component values and compare results.

I can also create curves via post processing to provide more detailed information.

However I don't seem to be able to do both because of how Tina-Ti names curves when parameter stepping.

Are there any work arounds here?

TINA/Spice: Op-Amp Selection for increased phase margin in improved howland current source

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

As spoken about in a previous question HERE

I am trying to compensate a howland current source that must be able to drive a wide range of coils with an inductance range of 0 to 100mH and resistance of 0.1R to 500R, lowest natural frequency around 100Hz.

I also understand how various Op-Amp DC performance characteristics affect the accuracy of the output.

I understand to some extent the time constant of the coil, and the supply rails will limit the possible bandwidth.

Assuming those are fixed, what are the key AC parameters I should be looking for when selecting an Op-Amp.

TINA/Spice/HD3SS3411: Using HD3SS3411 in switched capacitors emulation board

Part Number:HD3SS3411

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi
I want to build a board that emulate a switched capacitors circuit. I want to use several HD3SS3411 switches to emulate the switches of the switched capacitors circuit, because HD3SS3411 has a very low capacitance and it is a very fast switch according its datasheet(switching time = 0.5ns). Somehow HD3SS3411 has not PSPICE or TINA model, so I can't simulate using HD3SS3411, there is a model for HSPICE but I do not have it. Has anyone used HD3SS3411 to emulate switched capacitor circuit? Does any one who emulated a switched capacitors circuit see a problem using HD3SS3411 in a switch capacitor circuit?
