WEBENCH® Tools/TPS62140: Lower side feedback resistor package

Hi,

I have observed that the lower side feedback resistor package is 0603 at We-bench design and also in EVM Schematic and BOM.

The value in my design is 180K,0.1W,+/-1%

I need to use 0402 package instead of 0603.

Is there any constraint to use small size resistor at this location. Please suggest.

Thanks

TIDA-00663: Signals from external controller to board

Part Number:TIDA-00663

Dear,

I have some questions about the signals coming to the  board:

- BP19_PWM_GPIO_TRIGG: I suppose this a pulse. What should be the maximum/minimum length of this pulse?

- TPROP_CALIBRATION_ENABLE_BP10_P3.6: where is this signal used for?  Goes it in conjunction with the BP11_CAL signal?

- 5K_GAIN_SETTING_BP9_P3.5: is this used to adapt for different types of diodes?

Thanks for clarifying

TINA/Spice/UCC28180: Using transient model in Pspice

Part Number:UCC28180

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi,

I am trying to do transient analysis using UCC28180 in OrCAD Capture CIS 17.2-2016 Lite.

  • I am not able to add the transient model directly since the .olb file is not provided for the transient model.
  • While trying to open the .lib file downloaded from UCC28180 TINA-TI Transient Spice Model using ModelEditor, the following error pops us, "saving new models to it will destroy any of its original models, since the library does not contain any models".
  • I tried removing the _trans from library name, as mentioned in a thread in OrCad webite, it still throws the same error.
  • I tried to export model using model editor, and converted .lib to .olb. While adding this .olb in OrCAD, no associated part is shown.
  • I require transient model since average model doesn't have VCC and FREQ pins - which is required for transient analysis.

How can this be solved? Please provide step-by-step procedure for the solution.

Regards,

Lakshmi

WEBENCH® Tools/TPS82130: Webench does not allow configuring these family devices as current sources, or voltage-adjustable outputs, as per SLVA451A

$

Part Number:TPS82130

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Theses family devices can have the feedback node comparison voltage changed by adjusting the voltage at the SS/TR pin with a resistor (or a voltage?), enabling configuring these devices as constant-current sources, like an LED driver, or, allowing an input voltage to change the output voltage by moving the feedback comparison voltage... Webench does not seem to have any option to create anything except the 'normal' buck converter configuration, with a capacitor at SS/TR?

Am I missing some way to do this?  Of co urse, I can do it in Tina-TI, but Tina-TI is brutally slow on my laptop :-(

TIDA-00355: Converting this Power board into Real time programmable CC-CV source using TIDA-00703

Part Number:TIDA-00355

I am trying to design Li-Ion Charger of 72 V, 10 A for battery having 40Ah capacity and nominal voltage of 72V and maximum of 84 V.

So at first I am replicating this design for 400 Watt, then will go for 800 Watt.

So I want to convert Power board designed using TIDA-00355 into Real Time Digitally controlled CC-CV Source using TIDA-00703. I found its PDF of design given on this link

But I have failed to find firmware code of it. I have visited that site but it's not available. I am trying to get from last few days.

Is these designs TIDA-00355 and TIDA-00703 are outdated and not recommended for new design ?

Or Please give me link of firmware code of TIDA-00703.

I asked question first time, so please forgive me for any mistake.

WEBENCH® Tools: Bandpass filter designer delivers results with too high gain

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Last time I used the filter designer was about three years ago and it delivered perfect results. Now it looks like a bug may have crept in. Here's an example:

Choose "bandpass" and enter the following parameters:

Gain: 0
Center Frequency: 500 Hz
Bandwidth: 92.7 Hz
Ripple: 1 (doesn't really matter for the filter chosen).
Choose filter order 8 (don't have it automatically selected).

Next select Bessel (it should show a Max Q of ~5.5), then create the design.

When you run an AC analysis on the multi-feedback topology and the given parasitic components, you will notice a gain of about 54 dB, even though in the parameters 0 dB was chosen.

The AC analysis below shows the incorrect results of the latest filter designer compared with the correct results the Webench filter designer used to give about three years ago. Is there a chance to access the old version of the filter design until this has been fixed?

I have a customer attempting to export a design into Cadence OrCad Capture Version 17.2-2016.

Is this supported?

In addition, if customer isn't going to run additional sims, does the WEBENCH OrCAD Connector have to be downloaded and installed?

Thanks.

Hi Team

Thanks for usual support.

My customer is facing past project open issue now.

Is there a problem with the server or the like now?

From my customer that,

--

I can not open past projects.

The content of the Project relates to LMK03328.
I can do it until my choice from My Projcts,

After that, the screen of "CLOCK ARCHITECT" will appear.
Behavior is different until now.

Also, when trying to newly design the parameters of LMK03328,
After all, "CLOCK ARCHITECT" screen appears.

If I click "Start Interface Design" on the above screen
"Loading data ..." will be displayed endlessly.

Any advice should be highly appreciated.

Thanks

TINA/Spice/LMH6505: Simulation configuration to determine open loop gain & phase response (stability)

Part Number:LMH6505

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

I need to simulate the open loop gain & phase response of the LMH6505 to see how different Rf and Rg affect stability.  Can someone provide the simulation configuration to do this?  I am trying use a method similar to the one shown here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYWlPFBebfc

Also, in Application Note OA-25 (Stability Analysis of Current Feedback Amplifiers, National Semiconductor May 1995), Figure 3 shows a simulation configuration for a standard CFA.  How do I adapt this configuration for the LMH6505?

Thank you.

TIDA-00333: Dual Isolated Half-Duplex RS-485 Repeater: Question on Max Data Rate

Part Number:TIDA-00333

Dear TI,

We have successfully implemented your design "TIDA-00333".

With our device repeater works good at lower speeds, up to 19200 kbps. But our application requires speeds up to 115200 kbps. At this speed we are getting mostly garbage. (Just to mention, the device is transferring 250 24-bit readings at second and every reading must be transferred correctly)

Our question is: Can this design be modified for speed of 115200 kbps? If yes, please suggest changes.

Thank you,

Saso

TINA/Spice/TPS62150: Supercap charger with current feedback.

Part Number:TPS62150

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi

I'm trying to simulate a sequence of charging a supercapacitor from a very low voltage until it gets close to 5V. The output is controlled both by a stepped voltage applied to the  SS input (will be from  an MCU with built in DAC), and from a voltage added to the bottom of the feedback potential divider by the supercap charge current flowing through a low value resistor.

Using default transient analysis settings it is possible to simulate, for example, 100ms. The inductor current, output voltage etc looks reasonable. It could take over 10 seconds to charge the supercapacitor, and it may not be feasible to simulate such a long sequence. If I try, then previewing the waveforms gives a result that looks like aliasing. It might have been possible to run the simulation for as long as available, maybe a couple of days, then find out by using preview if that is enough to indicate that it works as intended, even if the output voltage is not near to 5V. The apparent aliasing makes that not a valid approach.

Is there an good solution to this? Do I need to stop trying to simulate this as a switchmode supply, and instead build the control loop around a power opamp and use that to simulate the charge current?

Andrew Armstrong
