TINA/Spice/LM5146-Q1-EVM12V: Output is dropping down to zero when connecting an ammeter at the output in TINA-TI

Part Number:LM5146-Q1-EVM12V

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello

I am trying to simulate LM5146-Q1 EVM and the output is dropping down to zero when I connected an ammeter at the output. I had this same issue while simulating LM5145 EVM . I changed the analysis parameter and I am using the latest version of TINA.

Thanks and Regards

Nayana

WEBENCH® Tools/LMS3655-Q1: Vin Min is high

Part Number:LMS3655-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

When simulating LMS3655AQRNLRQ1 in WEBENCH with Vout=5.05, 4.5A then the minimum allowed Vin is 6.7V.
According to the datasheet it should be around 5.5V.

Why is the VinMin so high in WEBENCH?

I am using the 'High Efficiency Design' option.

Best regards
Kim

PMP20588: PMP20588 Input Voltage

Part Number:PMP20588

I have a question about the flyback converter on the PMP20588 reference board. The schematic for the board lists an input of 12VDC +/-10% but under Parametrics here => http://www.ti.com/tool/PMP20588 it lists a Vmin of 10.8VDC and Vmax of 38VDC. I have a PMP20588B reference board on hand that I've tried with a 24VDC input and it appears to work fine. I am wondering is it OK to use a 24VDC input with this design?

Thanks,
Josh

TIDA-00961: TIDA-00961 questions

Part Number:TIDA-00961

Dear "Watermelon Noodles",

thank you for your help. There are some more questions appearing:

1) How much bulk capacitance did you use? Which voltage rating? C=? Vmax=?

2) You wrote: "check your power stage can work well with DC input and open loop condition;"

Do you mean to apply a DC voltage in the place of the ac input voltage and to create a boost converter?

In the C-code, I found the definition

// Check system under DC condition (cleanest SFRA curves) 0 is FALSE, 1 is TRUE

#define DC_CHECK 0

Does this mean that if I define this to 1, then I can supply a DC voltage instead of an ac voltage and the controller runs in open loop, boosing up the applied voltage? I will be happy for some more explanation about this "DC_CHECK" variable and how to use it correctly.

3) I already found out that the flyback auxiliary supply starts at about 120V. So increasing the voltage slowly from 0 to 120V, I can do this, but operation I will not see below 120V.

Many thanks.

Best regards

Patrick

Hi, there.

I could not find TPS745 in TINA simulator. I did find a spice model in TPS745 product folder at ti.com. Do you know how to use this model in TINA simulator?

Thanks,

Zhaohong

Hello,

I used WENCH for a design with LM3673TLX-ADJ, and it is not possible to get any simulation after pressing the START button. I attached the screenshot of my page. Please let me know if it is possible to fix this problem by requesting a model for this device or disabling the simulation function.

I am trying to implement a 3.3V/0.8V design for IMax 8A and 10A.  I have FETs from and existing design that I would like to leverage and simulate.  For example I would like to simulate with single instance of CSD16340Q3 for M1 and M2 however WEBENCH  only allows options for 2 CSD16340Q3 for the low side (M2) and then M1 is fixed to some other combination of single or dual fets.  Please advise.

Hi,

TIDA-00662 High Performance Capacitive Sensor Front-End Reference Design

2: What is the maximum frequency that can be applied to the measurement signal across the capacitor?

Thanks!

TIDA-00779: Boost Follower Circuit questions

Part Number:TIDA-00779

Hi team,

I have a couple questions about TIDA-00779 and, by extension, TIDA-00434. If you could help me understand the following, it would be greatly appreciated:

  • The relationship between VSENSE and ACSENSE and how this affects VDCBUS.
    • Perhaps the key to understanding this is understanding where ACSENSE originates, which leads me to my next question...
  • How TIDA-00434 interfaces with the PEC06SAAN connector and ultimately the TIDA-00779 board.

Looking forward to your insight. Thanks!

Brian

Dear Rayna,

Dear "Watermelon Noodles",

many thanks for your answers. I have tried to set up a CCS project as recommended in TIDUDU4A on page 11. However, this does not work on my computer. I Click on

Projects --> Import CCS Projects...

and then try to import the project in the folder

C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_DigitalPower_SDK_1_03_00_00\solutions\tida_00961

and then I select the TIDA-Project and click on "Finish" and then the message appears:

"Import failed for project 'tida_00961' because its meta-data cannot be interpreted. Please contact support."

What can I do here to get the project into CCS?

Should I maybe try CCS7? It seems that the project settings of the tida00961 template are incorrect.

Thank you in advance

Patrick

TIDA-01421: How to Obtain Reference Board Sample

Part Number:TIDA-01421

Hello,

I work at Nexteer Automotive as an Electrical Engineering intern. I was wondering if I could obtain one of your TIDA-01421 reference boards?

I have created a circuit similar to your reference but have been having issues with getting it to work with signal noise and certain ripples going undetected. I was hoping we could try your reference to see if it works better. If it does, we may even want to order some of these boards from you.

I'm also going to send an email out to m-sullivanti@ti.com as he responded to a post similar to this one about a year ago.

Thanks, Jared

TIDA-01371: floating posistive regulator 55V 6A continuous service

$

Part Number:TIDA-01371

Hello,

I would like to use the TIDA-01371 to have +55V @6A at the output, continuous service.

I am expecting high PSRR and Low Drop Voltage.

The circuit will be placed after an industrial SMPS with 200mVpp of ripple and I have to clean and isolate the output.

I would like to avoid the use of LCR filters.

I planned to add a heatsink at the CSD19533KCS.

Can I have the TINA file about the schematic reported at "TIDA-01371_E2_Positive-Regulator.SchDoc" pag 2 of 5?

So I can simulate the behaviours ... unfortunately I am not so skilled with TINA and I scare to introduce mistakes.

Regards.

Mario

TIDA-01513: Isolation Breach/Monitoring Question

$

Part Number:TIDA-01513

Team,

Question from my customer:

  • Referring to TIDA-01513 and isolation degradation in general: TI part calls the GFI type function “essential” to designs over 60V.   Any advice TI can provide as to how this HV disconnect/ Interruption function is accomplished would be appreciated.  Would a simple ‘dedicated measure’ such as resistors on all signal lines be enough? Or not?.  Is cut off on high side enough?  Is cut off on the ground side required as well?

Thanks!

Viktorija
