Part Number:LM3886

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello

I try to simulate the LM3886 behavior by using the TINA-TI spice tool and drawing the circuit that is listed in Figure 3 of the datasheet.

For some reason I get the following error: "INP does not match any pin of the macro element {LM3886}"

What can be the reason for this error?

Thanks.

WEBENCH® Tools: Simulation schematic values do not change when the DC/DC parameters are changed in the 'top line'

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

When in 'Simulate' frame: When making a change to the Vout of the DC/DC, using the 'Change' menu item in the top line, the resistor values do not update on the schematic shown in the simulation window, nor do the Vin parameters shown update on this schematic...

so, here it is for 3.3 V, with 309k  Rfbt

Now, changed to 2 V Vout, as shown in the top line, but Rfbt is still showing 309k

And, it seems that Vin values do not change correctly, either...

TIDA-01066: are there plans to correct the PCB files and update the software included with this reference design?

I'd love to be able to upload the zip file to OSH Park and order a few boards.  Also, another e2e post that refers to this reference design mentions the legacy issues with the software.

I recommend that you load your reference designs on OSH Park, Seeed, etc.  You have some tempting and thoughtful designs.  Thanks.

TIDA-01066: is there any evidence of the efficacy of hall effect sensors (e.g., DRV5032) over reed switches in window and door contacts in actual security installations?

$

Part Number:TIDA-01066

I am physical security installer/integrator.  I don't believe I have ever installed a wireless window/door contact that used a hall effect sensor.  All seem to use reed switches, which are rarely the failure mode.  This is the contact that I use most frequently.  These contacts (433MHz) are generally terrific and have all of the permeability and reach typical of subG.  GE/Interlogix/Honeywell have similar contacts with other subG frequencies.  The DSC contact uses this Maxim radio.

False alarms are near the top of the short-list of problems for physical security systems.  Moving to an unproven, non-UL sensor seems to be asking for problems.  Your approach of using two sensors seems logical (the security industry uses the same approach with some reed switch based sensors) and I like the idea of edge intelligence is appealing.  However, security products are in a different league than thermostats, lighting controls, etc.  Guys with guns show up when the products fail.

Are there any field-proven products using the design you recommend?

TINA/Spice/UCC28730-Q1: Cannot use UCC28730-Q1 model in LTspice or TINA --- need support or solution ASAP

Part Number:UCC28730-Q1

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

How to use the UCC28730-Q1 model????
I have download the UCC28730-Q1 spice model from TI website.
The 1st bad experience is,
When I import it into LTspice, it shows the error that "too few nodes"
Well, I google it, many people meet the same and the answer points to download the TI's tool "TINA".
(I really hope that, TI can release the unencrypted model for this ic ASAP)
Secondly, when I download and install the TINA, and following the instruction to import the UCC28730-Q1 spice mode
( link for import model -  www.ti.com/.../slva527.pdf )
But at step 2, it gives error that
“Invalid Device $CDNENCSTART. Line #32”
Thirdly, I notice for some IC models, there are some types, such as "transient model", "steady state model", etc
I wonder what's the difference between these models? Especially for us to do simulation?
And why only "transient model" is available for thic UCC28730-Q1?
Last but not least, even this community is hard to use.
I stuck many times just to raise question and post here...
Hope to get your answer soon.
Or you can directly contact me to yinwang@lucidmotors.com
Thanks

Hi,

I have simulated UCC 28070 using the unencrypted version of the spice model (transient model)  but not able to run the simulation and get the result. Please. I have attached the simulation file (SIMPLIS and LTspice) here and I will be appreciate if someone can take a look at those and find the potential problem.

I made a TPS3809L30 low voltage monitor chip LTSpice circuit  (.asc) for this  starting with a completely different LTC1440 part that is already part of the LTSpice library. In this case I had to create a 3 pin part out of the 6 pin part.  You can see the video tutorial here (with link to LTSpice files) and screenshot from video tutorial:

WEBENCH® Tools: FilterPro suggestion: Gain less than unity for MFB filters

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

For some reason, FilterPro doesn't allow filter designs having gain less than unity.

The MFB topology easily supports this, see sloa049b, section 7. The factor K sets the gain.

It would be super useful to be able to specify a gain less than one for the MFB topology to save a couple of components elsewhere in the circuit.

Thanks, Best, Steve

TINA/Spice/UCC21520: Irregular outputs from pin 15 out A and pin 10 out B

Part Number:UCC21520

Hello, I have set up a specific bidirectional buck-boost model for my project and the high side MOS and low side MOS are to be controlled by isolated gate signals.

Description of my TINA model:

As there is no two ground in TINA (Need analog and Digital)  to isolate so I used a very high voltage source(1500V) to separate the grounds. I am planning to use a bootstrap circuit for my model.

I used Vdd = 15V, for OUTA as per the calculations from datasheet the bootstrap capacitor and resistor are 1uF and 2.2 ohms respectively.

I am trying to generate a gate pulse of 0-15V at 20 KHz. The simulation results I receive are approximately 0-40V 20KHz for OUTA and 0-15V 20 kHz for  OUTB.

Also, the lower potential of VDDA and OUTA are connected to the high side of the MOS(suggested by the gate driver data sheet) and the VDDB and OUTB lower potentials are connected to Analog ground.

Can you examine and let me know why my model outputs a value of 0-40V 20KHz for OUTA.

P.S.: Modelling my system for 100KHz. Attaching my TINA model, apologies it looks a bit shabby. thanks.(Please visit the site to view this file)

Hi,

I have read the related BF862 post in the forum but that was back in 2013-14.

The model that NXP has now in their website is somewhat different:

There were a few references as to what modifications must be made to the file contents so that it can be imported into TINA.

I tried the removing the dot before the "SUBCKT" string without luck.

Is there anything else i can do to successfully import that file into TINA in orded to get a valid TSM model file?

Part Number:LF356

Tool/software:TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi dears

I want to use LF356 in my simulation project with OrCAD capture software, so I downloaded the LF356 library from ti.com and produced its library as reveal that described in the below link:

electronics.stackexchange.com/.../how-to-import-pspice-model-into-orcad-capture

than I add LF356 library to my project. After this the component that I see was as the below picture:

as you see the component has 5 pins that named 1, 2, 99, 50, 28. if we assume that this 5 pins are the main pins of an op-amp (negative input, positive input, output, negative supply, positive supply) witch pin is correspond to component pins? in other word i dont know what is the action of component pins.

thanks for your attentions.

Part Number:TIDA-00443

Hi,

This is kalyan. we are currently working on the TIDA00443 PFC circuit for charger application.

In fixed boost mode we are facing some issues related to input AC current,

for the given AC input ,DC link voltage is maintained at 390V. boost part is working fine, but input current is not sinusoidal (distorted waveform- attached). initially say some 100V AC input ,current waveform looks sinusoidal. beyond that input voltage level current is distorted. herewith i have attached the input current and Isense waveforms for your reference.  what could be the reason for this?

Isense and input AC current

Drain to source voltage and input current

TIDA-01547: Can the reference design support other frequency bands besides 902/853/433MHz?

Part Number:TIDA-01547

In the key documents of  TIDA-01547 and TIDA-010003, the frequency bands are 902/863/433 MHz.

Is that possible to run 6LoWPAN mesh on this reference design at other frequency bands (e.g., 297-351MHz, which is listed as supported frequency band in data sheet of cc1310)?

Thanks in advance.
