Hello,

The schematic files supplied with the project can be read in Altium. However, the footprints for all components can not be viewed.

It would be nice from you if you please upload the used libraries in the Project or add a link to them.

Thanks for your support.

WEBENCH® Tools/TPS43061: Can't simulate split rail Boost Converter with the TPS43061 transient model in TINA

Part Number: TPS43061

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello I am trying to simulate a boost converter that is designed such that the bias voltage going to the Vin pin of the PWMIC TPS43061 is above the UVLO threshold but the input voltage is below it. The idea is useful for operating with a single lithium ion battery.  A full explanation of the design idea come from the enclosed ap note from TI -

"Split-rail approaches extend boost converter input-voltage ranges"  The Ap Note comes from the Analog Applications Journal.

The problem I have is that the transient model of the TPS43061 will not allow me to split the voltage between the Vin pin of the TPS43061 and the input to the boost. The circuit is in the enclosed pdf. Whenever I try to run a transient I get the following error message: Irregular circuit - current of component V1. V1 is a VCVS tied to the Vin pin of the TPS43061. I can't check what is going on at the Vin pin because the model is encrypted. I tried adding an input resistance to reduce the current, however the Vin voltage never goes above 3V. I suspect there is an ideal component inside the TPS43061 transient model that forces the Vin pin of the PWMIC to be the same as the Vin of the boost converter.(Please visit the site to view this file)

Any ideas on how to accomplish the split rail simulation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chuck Sampson

TIDA-00951: The auxiliary 12V port (J6) cannot achieve the expected voltage

Part Number: TIDA-00951

Hello, I have just made a TIDA-00951 board in few days and try to do some experiment now. However, before I started my experiment, I found that the J6 (aux_LV_12V) did not work in a expected condition.

I set my DC power supply to 12V, turn off and connected to the J6 connector. Then I turn on the power supply, but the voltage shows on the digital screen of my DC power supply was only 4.2V (The power supply is not broken I promise). And I feel the position near the T4 transformer became hot.  I have checked several components nearby but didn't find the problem. I thought there should be somewhere short in the circuit and the 4.2V was the voltage of D4.(a 5.1V Zener diode)

So, I'd like to ask if you may have some suggestion to deal with this kind of issue. Or what may cause the issue in your experience and opinion.

By the way, when I turn on the 12V power supply (connect to J6), all the other connector are not connected, including the TIDA-01281 port. I was trying to use a F28379D DSP to replace it (I thought that should be ok), but I didn't connected it to the J5 connector when I test the Aux_LV_12V port.

PMP40379: 500-W, Single Stage LLC Power Supply Reference Design for Audio Amplifier

Part Number: PMP40379

Hello

I have a major question in refrence to the above refrence design.

When loading one rail of the SMPS output as below, what is the resulting voltages?

Example 1:

Loading the +42V rail with 6A (+ & 0) not loading the -42V rail, what is the voltage at the both rails?

Loading the -42V rail with 6A (- & 0) not loading the +42V rail, what is the voltage at the both rails?

They will remain +-42VDC in such load conditions?

Any answer is really appreciated.

INA129 Transient Analysis

How to set the rise time in a transient analysis? For example, in the circuit given below, when I perform transient analysis I want to set the rise time of the supply voltage curve of the power supply unit to be 50ms but TINA just provides start and end time of the transient analysis. I had to try different end time values such that the rise time was 50ms as shown in figure 3. Is there any way to manually set the rise time?

  • Circuit:
  • Results:
  • Simulation end time at 100ms
  • Simulation end time @ 5.3s so that 10k V is achieved at 50ms. As you can see in the above example, the rise time depends on the simulation end time so had to try a  lot of values until I got this plot

TIDA-010056: ambient temperature range of the design

Part Number: TIDA-010056

I have a question about Operating Ambient. I guess it is limited to +55C because the design does not have any heatsink. And if we add heatsink it will go to +85C. Correct? Why is it limited to -20C? Which part limits the temperature on the low side? Our product has to work from -40 to 85C.

Thanks

Dear All,

i am using LM5176 as buck boost converter. today we refer SNVU547–May 2017 application. we found a difference that TI  use some additional components .

Problem 1. SNVU547–May 2017 application note page no 10   resistance R9 value 10 ohm placed between Pin no.2 and diode D3 cathode. but in LM5176 datasheet this resistance is missing.

                     Why diode D3 needed.

Problem 2. SNVU547–May 2017 application note page no 10   resistance R15 value 2K  placed between Pin no.3 and input supply. but in LM5176 datasheet this resistance is missing.

why there is no diode between 2K resistance Vin.

Part Number: TIDA-01501

Hello,

may you please explain where do the Signals Vp_AUX and Vs_Aux come from? are they from the auxiliary supply TIDA 01503?

Also some other Signals on the schematic are not clear what they exactly are. For example on the schematic of the LLC stage, the C2 Connection, PG_%V, SGND, Enabl3 33V, V_temp and others, are not clear where they come from?

Thank you,

Amr

Hi Team,

Need your inputs on this. Our customer was unable to simulate the LMZ14203 inverting regulator on Webench. The tool was able to product a schematic design but apparently it can't be simulated. Our customer needs the simulation data for efficiency, and is asking for the phase compensation as well.

The operating conditions were as listed.

Vin = 9V-12.5V
Vout = -3.5V
Iout = 2A

We would appreciate your assistance on this.

Jejomar

TIDA-00643: TIDA-00643

Part Number: TIDA-00643

Hello,

I am referring to the reference design TIDA-006643 which specifies a current limit of 15 amps. I am trying to design a version which can handle way more current. The MOSFETS in the design can handle more current. So I was wondering which components limit the current to 15 A. I have two assumptions. The first assumption would be the layout of the board itself or the rating on the current sensing resistors ?

I was wondering if there is anything else that will needs to be replaced.

Thanks

Dear Sir.
I am a beginner of TINA-TI, from Japan.
I configured a very simple amplifier of LM3886 on TINA-TI.
However, a error message appeared.

“TLD pin: INP does not match any pin of the macro component. {LM3886}”

I can't understand the meaning of this message, and what should I do?
By the way, there was no problem with other operational amplifiers.
Best regards.

Hello

The BQ34Z100-G1 stoped communicate with BQStudio after programing new file.

1. I programed one file, components worked good.

2. i have changed few parameters and create a new file (SREC)

3. I programed the new file, programming succeed but after few second i lost communication with the BQStudio (picture attached)

4. I tried to read Reg address 00 from I2C Address AA and 16 but i got Error as reply  (picture attached).

5. this phenomenon happened on 2 components out of 2. on one card i replace the BQ34Z100 to a new one and communication backed.

6. more action i have done- close the BQstudio and reopen (few times), reset the PC.

7. i use custom board.

8. The BQ (which has no communiation) is alive- there is pulses on thermistor output pin, REG25 pin output= 2.5V.

9. i have checked by osilloscope the I2C signals to BQ34Z100- signals look OK

Best regards and thanks for your help

Actually, the design of the batterypack is a funded project for Africa for use both as a mobile battery for e-scooters, and home use as energy storage because the power grid is very unreliable.

I do need to replace the FETs and coils for use of 48V 20Ah battery pack, but i also need to change software in the MCU to accomodate to the higher pack voltage. Has this been done before as you know off?

TIDA-010003: TI-15.4 with 6LoWPAN, CoAP and DTLS

Part Number: TIDA-010003

Hi,

I want to setup a 6LoWPAN mesh network with DTLS and CoAP with CC1310 sensor nodes.

TIDA-010003 gives me a great starting point with 6LoWPAN and TI-15.4.

As data concentrator I would prefer a stack similar to TIDA-010032 on Raspberry Pi. Both examples work great together for me.

Looking at the code of TIDA-010032, I found that there CoAP and DTLS are already integrated. But looking at TIDA-010003, I found nothing related to this on the sensor side.

Do you know any sensor examples where CoAP and DTLS are configured ?

Has somebody integrated the 6LoWPAN example in CC13x0 SDK >= 3.10 ? (without icall)

I know that Contiki could also be an alternative, but I would prefer TI-15.4, because I like the examples for my application and because of of TI-RTOS.

Help with this questions would be much appreciated!

Best regards!
