PMP5818: R12, R17 and T2P

Part Number: PMP5818

Hello,

R12 is 0.2ohm/0.5W. How to determine this resister value and Wattage? We couldn't find part number of R12. What part is used for R12? We couldn't find this wattage, low resistance resister.

R17 is 866ohm. How to determine this resister value? If we want to use E24 series, is 820ohm or 910ohm any issue?

Regarding T2P, if we don't take PoE logo, is it acceptable T2P does not use?

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

Hi,

I am running system in current loop( i.e INC_BUILD==2). The sensing value all are correct but when i am setting usEnablepwm variable as 1 from watch window(it means when i am starting the switching) The ocp_fault flag is enabling, i am measuring current also using current probe it is not going beyond the threshold value but is setting as high. please explain what logic your using for ocp_fault. The corresponding picture is attached below.

TIDA-01501: Current rating of L4

Part Number: TIDA-01501

Hello,

may I ask you please what the current Rating of L4 is? It is intended to use only smd devices. So I will Change it to another part number. May I ask you please which Parameters are must to match so that one achieves the same Performance as the original L4? It seems that part number MPX1D2213L330 as an smd replacement is very near to the one in the design but About 33uH. It is unclear if the current of it Rating is OK or if there are other important Parameters that should be matched.

I have also changed the capacitors c817 and c818 to an smd equivalent which is ECW-UC2J223JV which is also a film capacitor but smd. The smd has the same capacitance, voltage but I'm not sure if there are more Parameters that should be checked. It would be nice if you have any comments about it please.

Thank you very much.

Amr

WEBENCH® Tools/LM25085: How to Use Custom FET in WebBench Design?

$

Part Number: LM25085

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello everyone,

I'm about 99% sure that I've been able to add custom FET's (and other devices) into a WebBench simulation in the past.  But for a current design based on the LM25085 I can't seem to do that.  WebBench only has a handful of 4 or 5 FET's that I can choose from and none of them are optimal.  How do I add a custom part where I enter the parameters of choice by hand?

Cheers,

James.

WEBENCH® Tools/LM25145: Power Designer App: LM25145 Cvin when Vin over 20V

$

Part Number: LM25145

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Using the Power Designer App for LM25145, every time the input power source is 20V or higher, the app recommends using Q10 of 10nF 0603 caps on Cvin (internal 7.5V LDO regulator source pin cap). Below 20V, it recommends Q1 100nF 0603.

The LM25145 documentation does not say much about Cvin besides:

"In high voltage applications, take extra care to ensure the VIN pin does not exceed the absolute maximum voltage rating of 55 V during line or load transient events. Voltage ringing on the VIN pin that exceeds the Absolute Maximum Ratings can damage the IC. Use high-quality ceramic input capacitors to minimize ringing. An RC filter from the input rail to the VIN pin (for example, 4.7 Ω and 0.1 μF) provides supplementary filtering at the VIN pin." -- referring to the 45V maximum input value.

In looking deeply at ceramic capacitor specification, the Power Designer recommendation and alternatives all seem strange and excessive.

It looks to me like a single Kemet C1210C106M5RACTU (1210 50V 10uF; @100kHz Z=170mR ESR=13mR; 3.2uF@40V)) is more than sufficient, and has better characteristics than any of the 10x 0603 10nF solutions presented by the Power Designer App. (or a Samsung CL32B106KBJNNWE)

A single TDK C2012X7R1H475K125AC (0805 50V 4.7uF; @100kHz Z=356mR ESR=33mR; 800nF@40V) also looks to be sufficient.

Is there someone who could take a look, see if this is a flaw in the Power Designer App, and if not, point out what factor I a missing?

Thank you very much.

WEBENCH® Tools/TPS53119: Iocp and Rtrip calculations

Part Number: TPS53119

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

How does the Webench tool calculate the value for the Rtrip resistor and the resulting Iocp values?  Calculating the Iocp value with the Rtrip resistor value from Webench based on the datasheet calculations produces Iocp values which are much larger than necessary to the point of making the over current protection useless.

Is there anyway to see what the Iocp value Webench think it is using for the design?

Part Number: LM5122

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Looking to design 12V - 48V Boost converter using the LM5122MH/NOPB. The current needs to be 20A max but I get error from Webench stating current exceeds limit. Is there a way around this in simulation so I can get the design I need? I specified my range of input voltages between 8V and 20V. I am planning to run two 350W electric motors using this boost converter. Thanks.

TIDA-01606: Missing layers in Gerber files.

Part Number: TIDA-01606

Greetings!

TIDA-01606 reference design perfectly fits my project requirements. To build control system for a grid inverter i ordered all boards for test needs. I used given on TIDA-01606 product page gerber data for manufacture. I was suprised, when received gate drivers has only 2 PCB layers. Comparison Altium PCB file and Gerber data showed that there are two power layers G1 and G2 absent in gerber project files. Can you update gerber files on product page for your customers, who want to build proposed TIDA-01606 project?

Best regards, Andrii Us

WEBENCH® Tools/TLV6001: TLV6001, ADC sampling capacitor and S+H selection

$

Part Number: TLV6001

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

hello,

I have one question regarding to ADC acquisition window. In order to achieve rated resolution, the signal source needs to charge the sampling capacitor in the ADC core to within 0.5LSBs of the signal voltage. According to TI recommendation CS should be atleast 20 X CH .The Cs is mostly just there to prevent the driving op-amp from slewing when the sample occurs.  later i have seen ISO224EVM Evaluation Module  SLAU733 page 3  in which after TLV6001 ,R is selected as 47 ohm and C is selected 100pf.  is it right? 100pf is less than 20 times CH, S+H is 85ns and ACQPS is 16 for this . i think S+h time is too fast to charge sampling capacitor. and if  ADC clock is 50MHZ then ADC conversion time is about 205ns then total sample time is 290ns, then maximum throughput will be 3.4MHZ.  could you please explian why TI used C as 100pf because it not right according to TI recommendation and one more question i am using double loop controller outer loop and voltage and inner loop is current loop. usually inner loop is faster and have have high bandwidth than voltage loop. if i want current loop faster hand having faster sampling i need to reduce value of CS i mean less than 100pf so that i will be faster than voltage loop but again its S+H will be too low. and i am not sure S+H time is enough of charging of sampling and hold capacitor. if i  use primary PWM 50KHZ and secondary PWM is 100KHZ to trigger ADC then sample rate will be 100KHZ. for 100KHZ ADC sample rate how much S+H i should need. for current and voltage loops.  neither too fast nor too slow thanks

WEBENCH® Tools/UCC28740: Flyback Converter Design

Part Number: UCC28740

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello there,

I am designing a Flyback converter using the UCC28740 IC controller, and have used the WEBENCH application and Design Calculator (Rev. B) spreadsheet on the UCC28740 page. The WEBENCH application provides a complete design of the converter, however I have a few questions regarding this and for steps moving forward when assembly this converter.

In order to validate my design, I am want to receive the same component values that are being outputted by WEBENCH and by the Design Calculator. Do these two tools use the same calculations to find the component values? I have tried with limited success to duplicate the WEBENCH results using the Design Calculator. WEBENCH does provide some calculations (such as determining Vout) but this calculated Vout on WEBENCH changes from the Vout I specify before WEBENCH builds my circuit. Are there any open source SPICE tools to validate this design in simulation?

Thank you for your time and help!

Hi,

The Design TIDA-00121. have the Gate driver LM25101C with a (HS) High side MOSFET  Voltage −1V to 100V - VDD.

we are going to increase the our  Vpp , for this we need the Gate Driver with an HS of 150V . i.e (High side MOSFET  Voltage −1V to 150V - VDD).So...

Please suggest the Gate driver Part No.

Thanks & Regards
