WEBENCH® Tools/LM5155: Output Voltage changing when FET is changed in Webench

$

0

Part Number: LM5155

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello,

I'm running Webench sims with LM5155 Boost. My specs are:

36Vin, 52Vout, 0.6A out

The default simulations look fine with a 52V output. However, if I change the FET to FDMC86240, the output voltage drops to 40V. Any idea why this might be happening?

Thanks,

Michael

WEBENCH® Tools/UCC21222: trouble with UCC21222 gate driver simulation in TINA-ti

Part Number: UCC21222

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello All!

New to TINA ti and i am trying to simulate the UCC21222 gate driver. I have followed the design notes in the datasheet here: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc21222.pdf

I have made the circuit in TINA with IRFZ44N channel MOSFETs. I followed the application schematic on pg 25 in the data sheet.

I have my input logic waveforms set correct and I imported diode models from other vendors. I made sure all N.C. pins are grounded.

The problem is, there is no output on the gate driver.

When I imported the UCC21222 spice model directly from the TI website, http://www.ti.com/product/UCC21222/toolssoftware,

I was only able to choose one .SUBCKT part even though there are many in the file ( i belive they are all related, not just different circuits, but are part of the internal IC structure).

Could this be the problem?

Additionally, I have not figured out how to make an isolated ground in TINA, and the UCC21222 calls for isolated ground in the datasheet. Could this lead to simulation problems? If so, then how do you make an isolated ground?(Please visit the site to view this file)

I have attatched my .TSC file for anyone to view.

Thanks!

TIDA-010042: 12V LEAD ACID BATTER NOT CHARGING

Part Number: TIDA-010042

Hi All,

I am evaluating the TIDA010042 module for one of my upcoming project.

I am facing an issue with the charging functionality.

Please clarify it.

Condition:
a. 12V battery is connected to the Battery terminal of TIDA Module. The battery measured voltage is 12.11V.
b. 12V/3.5 fan is connected at the load terminal.
c. I used the DC regulated power Supply as a panel input. and set the DC Source as 18V / 2A.

Case 1 : Initially I Not connected the Panel (DC Source) , Load (Fan) is not Running. Even though Battery is present.

Once the Panel (DC Source) is connected then only Load is running. after ward if removed the panel (DC Source) also the fan still running from battery.

Is it sensing the panel first in order to run the load?

Case 2: After sensing the panel the load is running, Under this condition, I disconnected Panel source (DC Source), the battery voltage (12.11V) is coming at the panel terminal (11.54V). Reverse Voltage is occurring at the panel terminal. why is it happening so ?

Case 3 : When I increase the panel power (DC Source) to 25V , Battery Voltage (12.11V) , Fan Load is connected. Under this condition, if I suddenly off the Panel (DC source ). High Voltage is coming at the panel terminal like ( more than 40V). why is it happening so ?

Case 4 : In above condition (Case 3) while battery charging , Battery probing voltage is 16.5V and more, same source is coming to the Load terminal also (Unable to limit the charging voltage) . Even though I configured 12V battery configuration in uController code. Why this much voltage is coming to the battery terminal.

Case 5 : Tested with Real Solar panel also & battery is not getting charged.
Solar panel details:
Open voltage : 22.7
Short circuit current 900mA
We connected Two panels in parallel ( total current 1.6 ) and tested it is not taking current from the panel.

Please give me your suggestion.

Thank and Regards,
Mohamed Sidiq.H

Hi sir,

1)  I have been working on LMX2595EVM. It is recommended to use 100MHz reference signal from external source. How can I disable the existing on chip crystal oscillator.

2)  What are the dimensions for the reference pro board and LMX2595 evaluation kit with SMA connectors.

3)  There is a 10-pin ribbon cable to connect from reference pro board to LMX2595EVM. As per my knowledge each pin can send only 1-bit of data at a time. but we get 24-bit data from TICS PRO GUI. How is it possible.

Thanks in advance.

WEBENCH® Tools/TPS57160-Q1: What is the calculation formula of L, Cout, ID in WEBENCH?

Part Number: TPS57160-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello Team,

I'm Yuta Kurimoto TIJ FAE.

I got a question from customer about the calculation formula of L(Inductance), Cout(Output capacitance), ID(Diode current) in WEBENCH.

Customer plan to use TPS57160-Q1 for buck converter. but their calculation seemed different from WEBENCH results.

Q1. What is the calculation formula of "L" in WEBENCH? Below is correct?

L1 = (Vin - Vout) x Vout / (ΔI x Fs x Vin)

Vout : output voltage

Vin : input voltage

ΔI : output current ripple

Fs : switching frequency

Q2. What is the calculation formula of "Cout" in WEBENCH? Below is correct?

Vripple = ΔI x (1/(8 x Cout x Fs) +R_ESR)

Vripple : output voltage ripple

ΔI : output current ripple

Fs : switching frequency

R_ESR : ESR of output capacitance

Q3. What is the calculation formula of "ID" in WEBENCH? Below is correct?

ID = Iout x (Vin - Vout) / Vin

Iout : output current

Vout : output voltage

Vin : input voltage

Part Number: TIDA-01632

I am trying to use 3 TIDA-01632 borads to build a RTLS system refer to this document:

http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AKBtFOm6vGAOwDl4OxS.jQ__krol.2c__LATEST

The 3 boards were flashed rtls_master / rtls_slave / rtls_passive project in simplelink_cc2640r2_sdk_3_30_00_20, then rtls_master and rtls_passive were connected to PC with UART to USB cable.

But when I ran rtls_agent_cli.exe in rtls_agent on my PC, both of the COM ports shows "NoRsp". The example RTLS python script "rtls_example_with_rtls_util.py" can not find the master and passive node either and show "No one of the nodes identified as RTLS MASTER".

Could you help to give some advice to debug this problem? Thanks.
